NOTE Mad Horse Brewpub is now permanently closed. Check out the new 1836 Kitchen and Taproom opening soon in this location.
Out of the way Mad Horse Brewpub is a trip worth making! Found at the top of the Loudoun County beer tour map and certainly the only brewpub for miles around, Mad Horse is a favorite for the local beer enthusiasts.
About Mad Horse:
This passion project that has become a source of pride for Lovettsville residents. What Mad Horse lacks in pretentiousness and polished refinement (yeah that’s not a bad thing) it makes up for greatly with excellent beer and a friendly atmosphere. This brewery is about as grass roots as it gets, and we loved every moment we spent here.
Getting There:
The town of Lovettsville, often decried for it’s lack of convenience (no grocery store as of this writing) is the location of choice for this excellent brewpub. Founder Scott Young spent much time looking at property throughout the county, trying to find a suitable location that wouldn’t break the bank. Lovettsville is a small town less than 3 miles south of the Maryland border in far Northern Loudoun County, VA.
