Beer with a View!

Breweries
The first two phrases you most commonly hear while driving with friends up the long Dirt Farm Brewing driveway are “how long is this driveway?” and “wow what a view!” This has been our experience on many trips with friends up to the brewery on the mountain.
Proudly positioned out at the far Western edge of Loudoun County, Dirt Farm Brewing is located on a 100 acre farm on the outskirts of the historic town of Bluemont. Coming from Rte 7, take the Snickersville Turnpike through Bluemont, past Wild Hare Cider. Turn left on Foggy Bottom Road, follow it for about a half mile and the brewery will be on the right (West) side of the road. There is plenty of parking but we would encourage you to arrive early as the lot tends to fill up! When you first enter you will notice the rows of hops growing near the entryway, oh and perhaps a llama or two!

We would recommend requesting a tour, the history of the property and a walkthrough of the brewing room (in a separate building in the back) is worth the time. The Zurschmeide family owns and operates the brewery, along with the nearby Great Country Farms and Bluemont Vinyard.
“how long is this driveway?” and “wow what a view!”
Dirt Farm usually has 8-10 beers on tap with seasonal varietals and a few hoppy high IBU options. We have tasted nearly every beer brewed here since the brewery opened and our favorite is the DIPA “Pants Off” (Careful its 9% ABV). Tied for second would be the Fluster Cluck Ale and the Red Merl red ale (we are partial to good red ales!) Check out their current tap list.
Dirt Farm Brewing

On the whole the beer at Dirt Farm is well crafted and with ales, stouts, IPAs and seasonals there are options for every beer lover. Make sure to try some of the food while your there, we really enjoy the pizza and the pretzel bites with spicy mustard!
